Giving Thanks

Monday November 24, 2008

It is this time of year when we are reminded to be thankful for all we have in our lives. We are more aware of the importance of expressing our warm gratitude to friends and loved ones. Now and especially throughout the year whenever life seems topsy turvy, take some time to think about all the things that make you feel happy and appreciative. Jot down a quick list and include both the small things like chocolate kisses and the big things like the people who love you.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."
--Melody Beattie

If you'd like to share about some of things for which you are grateful, please feel free to post in the comments section below.

Happy, happy Thanksgiving to you all!
With warmest wishes,
Keath

I’m thankfull my son is who he is, HAPPY, his ADHD makes him who he is and without it I might have a very shy, quiet child. I think I’ll take outgoing & active instead, he’s just like me & my ADHD !!!!

I’m thankful I have ADD. Most people don’t know anyone like me; I’m unique, to say the least, plus ADD gives me a special sensitivity to others that I can’t explain. For want of a better term, I call myself an empath. I’m beginning to appreciate myself more and more.

(3) Susan Manchester says:

I am thankful to God for salvation. I am thankful for friends who reach out in times of need and of blessing. I am thankful for my husband Dan who supports me so superbly. I am thankful for my children, despite their difficulties and idiosyncracies, because they teach me how God’s uncondional love works. I’m thankful for my wonderful grandchildren, even the granddaughter I don’t ever see. I’m thankful for sight so that I can behold my grandchildren’s faces and their smiles, the beauty God sends my way and the happiness on Dan’s face when he comes through the door at the end of the day. I am thankful that I can hear praises being lifted to God and laughter. I am thankful to have a nice home to live in, ample food to eat and treasures to enjoy. I am thankful for flowers, sunrises and sunsets, mountains, rivers, etc.
