From the article: Does Puberty Affect ADHD in Girls?
Puberty is a time of great change in a child’s life. Sometimes these changes can bring about increased challenges for a child with ADHD. You may see a worsening of symptoms associated with hormonal changes. Social pressures and problems around peer relationships may increase. Your own relationship with your child may change as he or she begins the transition to becoming more and more independent. If your child is on medication, he or she may start to refuse to take it. Behavioral approaches that worked previously may be less effective now.
