ADD
- As a teen with severe ADD one of the best things I can do is try to finish all my work first, and then play. It’s sometimes extremely difficult. For me avoiding any outside influences such as music or background noise helps. And STAY AWAY from the fridge!

Maintain Rhythm
- I frequently have problems with automated motions - especially when walking (Nordic walking). I went to a treatment in a health resort. There the sport therapist gave me a valuable hint - just pull those sticks and move your arms relaxedly. As soon as you have found the right rhythm again get back to walking. This really helped. I know that something similar can work for my daily tasks and I am looking for the clue in other hints given in this thread.

ADD
- Distractibility, disorganization, procrastination, poor time management, forgetfulness, restlessness, boredom, careless mistakes, incomplete projects, interrupting others, saying things without thinking. Well I have all of these symptoms and I struggle daily with this. One way I deal with this is I have come to the point to not care anymore or not as much. This seems to help, however, there is a down side in being this way. I have distanced myself from getting close to others. Not a good thing. Another way I have been dealing is to take notes, however, I do not always remember to do this. For the time management I tend to deal with this by starting early in every task. This helps a lot. Thank you for reading.

At Work
- I am 59 and have worked as a home support worker for 30 years. I have ADHD and find the hardest thing for me is blurting out my concerns about clients being critical and judgmental about the situation and other workers maybe not having high enough standards in my opinion. I have lost jobs, felt angry and frustrated. These behaviors do not serve me well. It has taken many years to realize this. I have started a meditation class with mindfulness and cognitive therapy which seems to help in all aspects of my life. Also working basically on my own seems to work better for me.
